Siegel High School proudly welcomes Coach Lynus Martin as the new Head Boys Basketball Coach.
Coach Martin brings more than 20 years of coaching and educational experience to the Stars program, along with a proven record of success and a deep commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the court. With over 300 career wins and multiple district and region accomplishments, he has consistently built competitive teams grounded in discipline, accountability, and hard work.
In addition to his high school coaching experience, Coach Martin is the founder of the Cereal Killers Travel Basketball Program, where he has mentored and developed athletes from elementary through high school, preparing them for the next level of competition. His passion for teaching the game and building strong character aligns perfectly with the values of Siegel High School and the Murfreesboro community.
Coach Martin’s vision for the program focuses on player development, team unity, and a culture of excellence. He is dedicated to creating an environment where student-athletes can grow as competitors, students, and leaders.

“I’m truly humbled by the faith and trust Mr. Wayne and the leadership at Siegel have placed in me. Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to learn from outstanding coaches and mentors, and those experiences have greatly shaped my approach to the game. Even more meaningful, however, is the opportunity to serve a school, staff, and community that I deeply care about. Siegel has been home for a long time, and the pride that comes with being part of Siegel Nation is something I hold dear."
At its core, this role is more than basketball, it’s a about developing young men the right way. Our goal has been to find a leader who will continue to build on the strong student-centered foundation that was set in 2003 when Siegel High was established. A foundation centered around academics, athletics, character and community service. Coach Martin will develop basketball players while staying consist with these foundational concepts.
Coach Martin is a former collegiate athlete at Tennessee Tech and has amassed more than 300 wins as a head basketball coach. Throughout his career, he has led teams to the Sub-State tournament and has been named Coach of the Year twice during his tenure as a head coach. Coach Martin thrives on individual player development and building meaningful connections within his team. He is deeply committed to helping each athlete grow both on and off the court, emphasizing academics, skill development, confidence, and accountability. Coach Martin also places a strong emphasis on team bonding, believing that trust and unity are essential to success. Known for his ability to motivate players, he brings contagious energy to the sideline, constantly encouraging, teaching, and inspiring his team to compete at their highest level. His passion for the players and the game of basketball is evident in every conversation.
